Download the video, not just the sound
A useful TikTok download should match the job you want to do: watch a clip offline, keep a copy of your own post, or bring an authorized video into an editing project. This SnapTik page focuses on that job. It works with video links and lets you save an available MP4 result instead of choosing an audio-only download or a set of slideshow photos.
Start with the link to a public TikTok video. Paste it into the field above and press Download. When results are returned, check the file options and save the one that suits your device. Where a watermark-free version is available, you can use it without cropping a moving logo out of the picture. The options depend on the original post; not every link will return the same formats or resolutions.
You do not need to install a SnapTik application to use this page. The download workflow takes place in your browser. Keep the TikTok post open until you have checked the saved file, especially if you are collecting your own work for an archive.
What to expect from the video downloader
MP4 video with sound
Choose this tool when you want the clip as a video file. MP4 is widely supported by phone players, desktop media applications and video editors. If you need only the soundtrack, use the separate MP3 tool rather than saving a larger video file first.
Available source quality
Look at the returned options instead of assuming every post has an HD download. Resolution and file size depend on what the source makes available. A larger file may be useful for editing, but a small original recording cannot become a detailed HD master simply by downloading it.
A browser-based workflow
You can start from a phone, tablet or computer with a supported browser. The location of the saved file and the appearance of the download prompt vary between browsers. You do not need to follow identical screen instructions on every device.
How to download a TikTok video with SnapTik
1. Copy the link to one video
Open the post in TikTok and select Share → Copy link. On a computer, you can copy the address while viewing the individual video. Use the post link, not a profile, search page, screenshot or caption. If a messaging app copied extra words around the URL, remove that surrounding text before submitting it.
2. Paste it into the video form
Return to this page, keep the Video tab selected, and paste the link. Use the Paste button when your browser permits clipboard access, or tap the field and paste manually. Press Download once and let the request finish before trying the same link again.
3. Choose a result and save the MP4
Check that the returned result matches the post you wanted. Select the available video download and follow your browser’s save prompt. Once it finishes, play the file to confirm the picture, sound and duration. Do this before deleting any original files you own.
A result appearing on the page and a file finishing its download are different stages. Keep the browser open while the transfer is active. If the connection stops or the result expires, return to the original post link and request a fresh result rather than repeatedly opening an old download button.
Save TikTok videos on your device
iPhone and iPad
Use Safari or another browser that supports saving files. After downloading, check the browser’s download list and the Files app. The download folder may be in iCloud Drive or on the device, depending on your settings. If the video opens in a preview, look for the browser’s save or share action. A compatible saved video can then be shared to Photos when that option is offered.
Android phones and tablets
Check your browser’s Downloads screen or the Downloads folder in your file manager. A finished MP4 may not immediately appear in every gallery application. Open it from the file manager first. If a transfer fails, check available storage and your connection before fetching the link again.
Windows, macOS and Linux
Save the file to a folder you can find again. Your browser may use Downloads automatically or ask for a destination. Open the completed MP4 in a compatible media player. For an editing project, keep an unchanged copy beside the working file so you do not overwrite your only saved version.
HD, resolution and file size: choose with realistic expectations
“HD” describes the image dimensions; it is not a promise that a download will look sharper than the original post. The final picture also depends on focus, lighting, motion, compression and the versions available from the source. If the results identify a resolution, use that information to make your choice. Do not assume an unlabeled file is 1080p or that every post has a 4K version.
For offline viewing, an available smaller file may be sufficient and easier to store. For authorized editing, a higher-quality option can be preferable when the source provides it. Keep in mind that exporting a video again from an editor may introduce additional compression. Downloading is not an enhancement process and does not reconstruct details lost before the post reached TikTok.
A watermark-free copy also does not mean a file is an untouched camera original. TikTok may process uploaded media, and SnapTik can only offer results available through its download workflow. Check the saved file itself when resolution, frame rate or audio quality matters to your work.
When a TikTok video will not download
The link is rejected or no result appears
Open the link in TikTok or your browser first. Confirm that it points to an accessible individual post. Then copy the link again from that post and remove unrelated text. Deleted, private, restricted or unsupported posts may not produce a result. A temporary source-side problem can also affect an otherwise valid public link; repeated rapid submissions are not a reliable fix.
The button opens a player instead of saving
Some browsers preview video files. Look for a download control in the player or the browser’s save/share menu. Do not install an unrelated application or browser extension just because another page asks you to do so. Return to SnapTik if you need to request a fresh result.
The download stops before it finishes
Check free storage, network stability and the browser’s download status. A partial file may not play even if its filename ends in MP4. Remove the incomplete copy and fetch a new result. If another size is available, consider that option on a limited connection.
The saved file has no sound or will not play
First confirm that the original post has audible sound and that your device is not muted. Make sure you selected Video rather than an audio-only option. Try a compatible player to distinguish a playback problem from a broken download. If the completed file is still incorrect, request the post again and compare the available result.
The video is missing from the gallery
Check the browser’s download list and your file manager before downloading another copy. On iPhone, a file can be in Files without appearing in Photos. On Android, a gallery may not yet display a newly saved file. Finding the actual MP4 is the first step; its appearance in a gallery is a separate device behavior.
Keep useful copies without confusing downloads with ownership
Your own published clips can be useful as an offline reference or an additional archive. Name saved files by date and subject, keep the original caption separately when needed, and back up important work somewhere other than the phone you use every day. A downloaded copy should supplement your original recordings, not replace them.
For somebody else’s work, check permission before saving or reusing it. Public access and the absence of a watermark do not make a video copyright-free. Crediting a creator may be appropriate, but credit alone is not necessarily permission to republish, edit or use a clip commercially. Respect the creator’s rights and applicable platform terms.
TikTok video download questions
Can I use SnapTik without installing an app?
Yes. This page provides a browser-based link-and-download workflow. Your browser still needs to support the file transfer and have enough space to save it.
Will every public TikTok link work?
No tool can promise that every link will remain supported or available. Post availability, regional restrictions, source responses and changes to TikTok can affect a request. Check the original post when a link fails.
Does every video have a watermark-free version?
Not every request is guaranteed to return the same options. Use an available watermark-free result when one is provided, and check the saved file rather than assuming all posts behave identically.
Can I download a private or deleted video?
This page is not a way to bypass private access controls or recover a deleted post. Use your own original recording or an authorized backup when the public source is no longer available.
Why is the file not the resolution I expected?
The downloadable result depends on what is available for that post. Uploading an HD video does not guarantee that every later request will return the same variant. SnapTik does not create higher resolution by adding detail.
Can I save only the audio?
Use the TikTok MP3 downloader for that task. It keeps audio downloads separate from this page’s video workflow.
Where should I look after downloading?
Start with your browser’s Downloads list. Then check the Downloads folder or Files app. The browser and operating-system settings determine the final location.
Is SnapTik an official TikTok service?
No. SnapTik is an independent utility and is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok or ByteDance. TikTok and other product names belong to their respective owners.
Ready to save a video?
Open the public post, copy its link and return to the video download form. Choose the available MP4 result, let the transfer finish and check the saved file. For the wider set of SnapTik tools and information, visit the English homepage.
